We had to wait for Aidan to make some calls to ensure that we were safe to enter the streets before we could leave the hospital. Since we had Nadia now, taking such a risk was out of the question.
I didn’t bother speaking to Nadia about her actions right there in the hospital. I needed her to be safe at home first before I would do that.
Motherhood did put a test on your patience sometimes.
Aidan came back to meet us in the hallway after he had taken his call. We were sitting on one of the benches, and Nadia was snuggled up against me.
“We can leave, but it’s a long walk from here, so Jace is bringing the car, and I’ll drive you both back home.”
