The strong scent of Thjis’ cologne hit her the moment she left Zikur’s room. Refusing to admit that her daring husband must have eavesdropped on their conversation, she took to her heels.

Thjis chuckled as he watched his wife scamper away. He would have loved to chase her, but first he had other important things to deal with.

Zikur wasn’t the least surprised to find the Icelander king in his room when he stepped out of the shower. He had expected this visit sooner.

“To what do I owe this pleasure Thjis the Great?” Zikur asked as he toweled off. Thjis cast him a look. “It’s King Thjis the Great to you. When the fuck are you leaving my lands?”

Zikur’s smile was tight lipped. “As soon as my king is ready to leave.”

“Hanos would leave today at midnight. I expect you to go with him.”

“Why are you in a hurry to get rid of me huh? I haven’t done anything wrong.”

Thjis laughed. “You fucking slept with my woman!”
