Chapter 125. Just Give in to Me
“Your baby is… safe,” Ralph answered in a struggling voice as if saying the word ‘baby’ feels like a blade slitting his throat. I shifted my position to look him in the eyes and all I could see was misery and regret. His eyes were red as if he was on the verge of crying and I could hear his heart thumping loudly against his chest, his labored breathe as he for his voice not to break while speaking, “he seems strong like his mother,”
“Strong like her or his father,” I retorted back to him with a steely look, and his brows angled as if he was hurt by the expression on my face.
Even in the room's darkness, I can see the anger in Ralph’s eyes. My body trembles in fear but I still manage to glare back at him, pretending that I am not afraid no matter what he does to me. I pulled teh blanket against me, steadying myself, expecting that he might hurt me or something.
