She couldn’t just watch her friends die doing nothing.
“It’s blood!”
Kattie cruelly cut a deep line into her wrist, where there were many blood vessels, allowing more blood to flow. The pain caused her face to pale, but her eyes lit up, only regretting that she couldn’t make her blood flow faster. She even squeezed her own hand to force the blood to flow out. The image of herself vigorously resisting was so intense that Alexander had to widen his eyes to look at his own child.
But the circle opened no more.
Kattie persisted for a few more minutes, only to see that it didn’t have any effect. The eyes, like sharp blades, were thrown towards Alexander, and her voice was sharp:
“Were you deceiving me?”
“Only this bit of blood. It wasn’t enough to save people. This bit of blood could exchange for more than a dozen people below; it was not the equal exchange I was expecting.”
