Chapter 62. Tense Feeling

The ride back to the pack house feels longer than the ride it took to get northern. Kayden is crushing through the street like a sports car driver and all I can do is hold onto the seat belt for my dear life. He is so lost in his mind that any word I utter passes his ears or maybe he is just ignoring me. That one phone call changed everything. Not only having us rush back home like maniacs but cutting our date short.

“ Kayden! Please talk to me! Tell me what's wrong?” I plead my voice breaking. For some reason, my heart feels like it will run out of my chest. At this point, I can't tell if it is because of the pace at which the car is moving or something else. My heart feels heavy, so heavy it gives me goosebumps.

Just like I expected Kayden greets my plea with silence.
