“I used to be able to look you in the eye. I used to be able to understand what you were trying to say without you saying it, but I cannot do that anymore, Liam. I cannot find myself being able to look you in the eye and understanding anything that you're saying. Because I don't know whether or not you're telling me the truth. I don't know how deep your manipulation started running.” She said, looking away from me. “I can't do this anymore. I am trying to hold strong, but it is only for the sake of our daughter. Her words cut sharper than any blade. She spoke of betrayal, of years of standing second, of the divorce I shoved in her hands, and though I knew every syllable was true, hearing them now was unbearable.
