Chapter 171

“ Are you sure you’re fine?” Kai asked for the hundredth time, looking at the Alpha through squinted eyes.

Lucious hadn’t move from the position he stood since forever. Neither has he said a thing. All he did was stand there staring out the window with a blank expression on his face. But behind that face, Kai could see the turmoil going on within his friend.

“ Are you even listening?” He asked again.

“ Huh?” Lucious answered absentmindedly. “ What?”

“ See you weren’t even paying attention to me” Kai shook his head. “Seriously, what’s up with you? I’ve been talking for minutes now but your mind ain’t here man. What are you thinking about?”

“ I’m fine.” Lucious sighed. “ Go on, I’m listening.” He replied, eyes still starting out the window.

“ No you’re not.” Kai walked up to him. “ You’ve been behaving weird ever since I got here. You okay?” He asked noticing the distress on the Alpha's face. Something was really bothering him, he knew.
