Chapter 1
I found myself standing in front of a chic bar, feeling both excitement and worry intertwine within me. This wasn’t my usual scene, not by a long shot. But here I was, about to hop on a night that would undoubtedly unravel the familiar threads of my routine life, all thanks to my persistent and spirited friend, Suzy.
Suzy and I had an extraordinary friendship. She was the embodiment of luxury, born into a world where money flowed like a river. On the contrary, my existence was rooted in modesty, my life defined by hard work. Yet, despite the differences that should have kept us worlds apart, our bond had grown over the years, and she had a knack for pulling me into her whirlwind of adventures.
Tonight’s escapade was no exception. Suzy had made it her mission to convince me to join her at a trendy club. Eventually, due to her determination to make me come with her, I agreed.
I wore a black, form-fitting dress that clung to my curves – a garment I would never have picked out on my own. As I adjusted the dress, a nervous laugh escaped my lips. Who was this woman staring back at me in an outfit that felt intimidating?
My phone buzzed and showed the impatient Suzy waiting for me. The moment I stepped into the bar, the loud music welcomed me.
“Finally!” Suzy exclaimed, her eyes gleaming with mischief. “Margareth, you look absolutely stunning! I knew that dress would be a game-changer.”
I managed a shy smile, the heat creeping up to my cheeks. “Thanks, Suzy. But I still can’t believe you made me wear this dress.”
Linking her arm through mine, Suzy led me through the sea of people.
Her connections and confidence opened doors for us, and we soon ascended a small staircase leading to the VIP section. The lavishness was undeniable – plush seating, ambient lighting, and a sense of exclusivity that felt both exhilarating and foreign.
Suzy’s friends were already present, their laughter and conversations filling the air. As I settled into a seat, I couldn’t help but feel like a fish out of water, surrounded by people who embody a world I had only glimpsed from afar.
The night unfolded in a whirlwind of music, laughter, and dancing. As the beats pulsed through me, I found my body moving in sync with the rhythm. Suzy’s presence was a magnetic force throughout the night, drawing everyone towards her. Her laugh was infectious, her energy contagious, and it was easy to see why people gravitated towards her like she was the center of the night,
Suzy and her friends made me drink different kinds of heavy alcohol that made me really drunk after a few shots. I wanted to go out of the club; I wanted fresh air all of a sudden, but I stumbled into the arms of a very fine man. I looked at him and smirked. “You look good!” I shouted at him so he could hear me.
His lips twitched into a grin, and he leaned in closer, his lips nearly brushing against my ear to be heard over the noise. “Well, thank you! You don’t look too bad yourself.”
My cheeks flushed as his words registered, the alcohol lending me a newfound boldness. I leaned against him slightly, our proximity making my heart race even faster. “I’m Margareth,” I introduced myself, my words slurring slightly.
He extended a hand, his touch sending a jolt of electricity through my intoxicated senses. “Nice to meet you, Margareth.”
With a grin, I shook his hand, a surge of warmth coursing through me. “You know, I think you just saved me from a very ungraceful fall.”
The man laughed, “Consider it my good deed for the night.”
He stared at me like I was a piece of art. Well, he’s a piece of art. His eyes are beautiful, and those lips made me want to kiss him right now. I was about to look away, but before I did, he held my neck and kissed me hard, and I, being drunk, got carried away and kissed him back. I was so drunk, we went to his car, and he drove fast. The next thing I knew, I was on the bed kissing him with so much anticipation. It was a very hot night, my first night with someone, and I did it with a stranger. I gave him my name, but he didn’t give me his name.
------------------------------------------------------------
I woke up with a heavy head and an unknown man beside me.
I cursed between my breaths as I looked at the stunning man beside me. Did I just do it with him? I look under the blanket to see if I have my clothes on, but I didn’t. Shit, I thought to myself. There’s no way I did it with a stranger; I stared at him for a moment, then I quickly changed, gathered my things, and left the place.
I took a taxi and tried to open my phone but it was on low battery. I signed in frustration. What the hell did you do, Margareth? My first should be my future husband, but I gave it to a stranger, but a hot stranger. I mess up my hair, and the taxi driver looks at me like I’m a crazy woman.
I hurriedly went to my apartment and found Suzy at my front door, knocking. She saw me looking like a mess, and I cried in front of her.
“What happened? I’m so sorry, Marga, I got you so drunk. Where have you been? Are you okay?” she asked, concern was evident in her eyes.
I went to open my door, and that’s where I continued crying in regret.
“Tell me what happened,” she held my face and wiped my tears.
“I did it,” I said in between my cries.
“What did you do? Did you kill someone?” she asked jokingly.
“I didn’t, okay? I had given myself to a stranger, Suzy. I should’ve given it to my future husband,” I cried again.
“Is he hot?” she asks, and I look at her in disbelief.
“Yes, he is,” I said, and she squealed in excitement.
“Why are you so happy?” I rolled my eyes at her. “What if I got pregnant?”
“You wouldn’t. I know it for sure,” Suzy said confidently.
“I hope I won’t,” I wiped my tears and calmed down.
