“N’aaww. You’re way too kind, Ann, however, everything you just said is completely true.”

‘Tell her she’s insufferably arrogant too sometimes...’ Maeve offered helpfully as Ann sniggered

“Whatever you just said, Maeve… I love you too. Okay, enough chit-chat. It’s going to make me soft and we can’t have that. I spoke to pappa and he’s free to help but there’s one tiny problem.”

Ann’s stomach sank.

“Lexi, can I put you on speakerphone? It would help if Adam could hear this too.”

“Sure thing, I don’t mind the big bad wolf listening in. It’s mostly him that’s probably going to have an issue with this anyway.”

“What am I going to have an issue with exactly?” Adam asked warily.

“Ooo! Your voice is even sexier on the phone.” Lexi simpered excitedly, “Maeve... please tell me they’ve...”
