Katarina's POV

Clamorous blares of the pack had me freeze as I looked in the distance at pack wolves gathering around. Confused, I rushed inside to find Mikaela coming from the backside. Our eyes met with the same question lingering in our gazes. Tangible fear gripped my senses and Mikaela stammered.

“What is happening?” I asked and she shrugged her shoulders. It would’ve been fine if these blares were not this loud and sharp. The last time I heard them was when my brother died, these malicious horns usually blow when a pack was under attack. I-I believed Augustus’s pack was secure.
