Chapter 20
Elena - POV
I rolled out of bed and stared at the dawn rays at the skyline, seeing the glimmers of last night’s memories; when I entered the Moonflower chapel, I heard a female voice in my head calling my name, and I felt a sharp pain suddenly. I don’t know. For a split second, I felt a strange surge in my body. Maybe sickness side effects are taking a toll on my body. I worked out and took a bath. I dressed up for the shoot and dialed Jake. The call went to voice mail; I fed Bruno, who looked chirpy today. Bruno looked gloomy after I returned from the hospital; I kissed Bruno, who joyfully licked my face.
“Relax, little buddy; Mum will come back and be a good boy,” I said as the dog sitter came to look after Burno. I took a few deep breaths in the elevator. I saw Janice waiting for me at the entrance.
“You were supposed to meet me at the shoot’s location,” I asked her, puzzled.
“Babe.” I turned to see Jake with the flower bouquet of roses in hand.&nbs
