Chapter 123
Third Person POV
Lord Bryon woke up as usual that morning ignorant of the evil of the day ahead of him. As he was about to leave his room he saw that a piece of paper had slipped underneath his door. He opened his door to make out the messenger but he saw no one. He put on gloves (he was a careful man by nature and he understood that many people had been poisoned through such strange letters) and picked up the piece of paper. When he opened it, the paper read, the horse cart is loose.
He placed the paper in the fireplace and watched it burn; it was a warning. Someone was after his life and he had to be careful.
He reviewed what he had on and decided there was enough room for a gun and a short spear and as was his custom as the minister of war, he wore his sword.
He met his coachman in the carriage, smiling and ready to leave.
