Deric POV

The wind howled against the walls as I stepped through the gates, the sound only amplified my confusion. Ronan was supposed to tell Jaxon, but of course, he didn’t. He probably thought he was doing me a favor by keeping it quiet. I should’ve known. Jaxon was suspicious already, and when he asked what “stuff” I meant, I almost choked on my own damn breath.

Moonshade dust.

A rare, almost forgotten substance in our kind, mostly found in the Morrien pack. Useless to most…unless you know exactly how to use it.

I clenched my jaw, pressing a hand to the hidden pocket inside my cloak, where the pouch of glistening dust now sat. It felt warm, like it had absorbed the tension of every single person who had ever tried to use it.
