I scanned the crowd frantically, my heart pounding against my ribs like a caged animal. Aria’s pink dress and dark curls were nowhere to be seen among the wedding guests. The celebration continued around us, but I felt nothing but rising panic.

“She has to be here somewhere,” I whispered, trying to keep my voice steady. “She wouldn’t just wander off.”
