Amelia’s POV

I stormed through the reckety doors, my hands shaking with rage, my breath coming in sharp, uneven gasps. What was left of the heavy oak doors slammed behind me with a resounding thud, rattling the broken chandeliers overhead.

“Amelia.” My father’s voice was firm, but there was an undercurrent of unease. I turned to him sharply, my vision red, my fists clenched so tightly my nails dug into my palms. “You need to calm down.”

“Calm down?” I seethed, my voice dripping with venom. “She humiliated me. In front of everyone. And Julian—” I choked on the name, my chest tightening. “He threatened to replace me. With her.”
