The moment I stepped onto the familiar grounds of the Golden Ridge Pack’s estate, I felt a strange sense of relief. We had spent all day on the road, and we arrived just as the sun was setting.

The pack members had gathered outside, waiting for me, their faces alight with joy and relief. As soon as I stepped forward, a roar of excitement erupted.

They cheered, their voices merging into a powerful chorus that rang through the air.

“Avery’s back!”

“Thank the Moon Goddess, she’s safe!”

“Welcome home!”

For the first time in a long time, I felt something stir deep within me; a sense of belonging. It wasn’t just the cheers, the eager smiles, or the way they called my name. It was the unmistakable warmth in their eyes, the sincerity in their voices. They were truly glad to see me, to have me back among them.
