Chapter 85. Almost Midnight (2)
Grace's heartbeat stopped for a moment before it started to beat really fast. "What do you want, Ant?" she asked.
Anthony lifted the penknife and fiddled with it in his face. "This? I just wanted to show that I brought this. And also this,” he said then took out a plastic bag of snacks from the other pocket of his pants. “The plastic bag can't be ripped open without a knife.”
If there hadn't been any conflict between them, Grace would probably have laughed amusedly. Nevertheless, now she just stood still, feeling the tension. She had watched a thriller movie where a psychopath cracked a joke before killing his target.
“Don't be afraid. I won't hurt someone I love. I was just joking." Anthony chuckled as he tore off the plastic bag containing grilled sunflower seeds. He then put the knife back into his pocket, opened some seeds, and ate them. “Yup, it turns out that I can't forget you till now. Seems my love for you is bigger than my hatred.”
