Chapter 101. All Wet

As Anastacia was about to get into the car, Emerald handed her a lollipop.

"Mom, a little welcome gift."

Emerald suddenly called her "mom," and Anastacia sprang up in excitement. "Hey, darling, say that again!"

"Mom," Emerald said gently, with a soft smile.

Anastacia let out an expletive, laughing. "Damn, I just want to put you in my pocket and take you with me. My sweet daughter, I'll be back soon, and I'll bring you a gift!"

She kissed Emerald on the forehead, grabbed the lollipop, and hopped into the car.

She had to leave now—if she stayed any longer, she was afraid she'd never want to leave. Who could have such an amazing daughter and not treat her like a treasure?

Emerald watched Anastacia drive off. Even though she had lost her father today, she had gained a mother.

It felt so good.

Back in her room, Emerald was about to wash up when she discovered a black gold card tucked into her pocket!

It must have been from Anastacia.
