Alaric leaned in closer to Emerald.

Since his emotions served as both a cage and a weapon, there was no way to break free from the situation.

If he could consume her mind, heart, and body with nothing but his presence, she wouldn't have the time—or the capacity—to care about anyone else.

Emerald froze as Alaric suddenly closed the distance. Her bare feet dangled off the bed, her palms pressing against its edge for support.

Her wide eyes blinked, brimming with innocence.

How could a girl with such a sharp tongue not attract the attention of hungry wolves?

"Aric, you… why are you so close?"

Alaric caught her delicate wrist and tilted her chin up with his fingers, his gaze soft and deep. "Because I want to kiss you."

Emerald's pupils dilated. "No, this is Teacher Susie's—mmph..."

At the doorway, Griffin stood frozen, his gaze locking onto the petite girl caught in the grasp of the taller man, their lips tangled in an unrestrained kiss.
