I took a deep breath, trying to steady my nerves, and finally gathered the courage to speak. “Who are you?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
The man’s smile widened, revealing a glimpse of his white teeth. “You can call me Gabriel,” he replied calmly. His voice was soothing, yet there was an air of mystery about him.
Gabriel leaned back against the wall, his hazelnut eyes never leaving mine. “I’ve been watching you for quite some time,” he said. “You have a unique energy about you, a spark that sets you apart from others.”
Confusion swirled within me. “Why have you been watching me?” I asked, my voice tinged with both curiosity and apprehension.
