Chapter 12
“Your expression…” Marcus said as he opened the car door for me and offered his hand to help me out. “What are you thinking about?”
“I’m not,” I said, smiling at the giddy note in my voice. “Isn’t it wonderful? I’m not thinking about anything.”
“Then what are you doing?” he asked, drawing me into a hug.
I looped my arms around his neck. “I’m giving in,” I whispered. “Please, Marcus. Make me feel more. Make me feel everything.”
“Honey… whatever you say.”
I laughed—ecstatic and surprised—when he lifted me and carried me to my door. I clung to him, my head on his shoulder, trying to figure out what the hell had happened to me. Me, the cautious one. The woman who never let go and never let a man near her heart.
