Daveʼs POV

How annoyingly bold of her!

I ignored her silly comment when I couldn’t help but catch a whiff of the faint scent of men’s cologne clinging to her clothes. It was enough to set my teeth on edge.

"Where the hell are you coming from?" I demanded, my voice rising with each word. "And why the fuck do you smell like a man's cologne?"

Belle's eyes flashed with anger. "Stop yelling at me, Dave! I’m no longer engaged to you, and I owe you no explanation for my actions."

I felt a wave of disbelief wash over me. "What? Did you lose your mind after the pregnancy? What the fuck is wrong with you?"

Before I could react, her hands collided with my cheeks in a loud slap. The sharp sting radiated across my face. I was shocked and furious, but more than anything, I was hurt.
