Chapter 44
Jaejun was still in his pajamas, his hair was somewhat messy, and his tired eyes were attentive to the two of us. I managed to smile again.
Jaejun shrunk back and headed to the kitchen with Yejun. I looked at Hajun, feeling surprised, and followed them into the kitchen, where the rest of our friends gathered around Jaejun, as they always did, offering their hugs and support.
Jaejun didn't cry, but he remained quiet. Jackson seemed to be the most concerned, touching his cheeks while keeping a watchful eye and a slight pout on his lips.
I approached them; I didn't want to interrupt but wanted to hear them and understand what finally got Jaejun out of his room.
"How are you?" Jackson asked.
"I'm fine."
"Have you taken a shower?"
Jaejun shrugged and denied it. I smiled; it was past three in the afternoon, but I wouldn't be the one to judge him. Grief sometimes throws us into the depths of despair.
