“To hurt me again, like she did at that party.”
Again? Did Alicia get to find out? Reynolds was puzzled but didn’t show it. He kept a straight face. Alicia went in front of him. She wanted all she could get. His attention. His words directed to her face. The expression he was going to have. Everything.

“She did at the party, so why not do the same in her own house?” Alicia took ownership of the house. That—Reynolds loved to hear. How she claimed it gave him a warm feel.

“Do I not deserve to know? Why didn’t you?” She kept asking, expecting some kind of worthy answer.
