Chapter 55. A Good Time Possible
CHARLOTTE
Finally, the alarm rang—it was morning.
I groaned and rolled over, slapping the snooze button angrily.
What a night!
My body felt like lead.
No surprise.
Dragging myself up, I yawned so wide my jaw cracked, shuffled into the bathroom, splashed some water on my face, brushed, and then shuffled back.
Olive was still asleep, curled up under her blanket like a burrito, snoring softly.
For a second, I envied her peaceful oblivion.
Meanwhile, I looked for a weight scale. I rummaged through the corners of the room like some detective in a crime drama, but nothing.
Unlike me, Olive isn’t so worried about gaining weight daily, I guess.
She doesn’t monitor her weight gain on a daily basis like I do.
I dropped onto the edge of the bed with a dramatic sigh.
My hand absently went to my stomach. I wondered if I added weight while staying on that island and eating all those fancy ‘master chef’ meals.
