“Miami. We’ve got a pool party to attend,” Emma replied immediately before anyone else could.
“Miami?” Angela raised an eyebrow. “And what kind of party is this?”
Emma flipped her hair.
“Just a singles mingle party. Nothing serious.”
Angela’s gaze shifted to me.
“Well, enjoy yourselves. Especially you, Charlotte.”
I smiled back at her and muttered a quick thanks.
After the call ended, the ride was quiet—steady, smooth enough that I almost dozed off—until the driver slowed.
The car eased to a halt, and I blinked at the sudden wash of white floodlights cutting across the tinted windows.
Emma perked up instantly, her lips curling into a smile.
“Finally. I was beginning to think we’d never get there.”
Olive leaned forward, her eyes narrowing as she peered outside.
