Chapter 50
He stared at her. “You’re a Lycan, Rosamund. You’re saying you cannot protect yourself against a human?”
“I had no wish to hurt her, Alaric. I know how grateful you are that she saved Mirella’s life.”
“I will speak with her immediately.”
Rosamund rested her hand on his arm. “My lord, Dorian was understandably upset and worried for my safety. He received word yesterday that he was needed at home and he decided to take the Red with him.”
“He did what?” Alaric stared at her.
“You cannot blame him, my lord. She attacked me. He thought it would be best for all concerned if he took the Red with him. He left you a handsome sum of money for her.”
Alaric turned and strode back towards the horses. Rosamund hurried after him.
“Alaric, where are you going?”
“Back to the house. I must speak with Elowyn and your brother.”
“It is too late, my lord. He spoke with me before we went on our ride and said that he would be leaving immediately.”
