Alistair’s POV
“Really? Gideon?” I exclaimed, my brow knitting together in confusion and a tinge of irritation.
Lyra blinked up at me, still half-lost in the waking haze. “I just… I saw him there,” she murmured, voice small and uncertain.
“No, you shouldn’t be dreaming of any other man,” I countered, struggling to keep my tone light. Gently, I slipped one arm around her waist, drawing her closer to me on the couch. With my free hand, I reached into my pocket, retrieved my phone, and tapped Gideon’s name from my contacts. “You know what? I ought to give him a call.”
Moments later, I heard his voice on the other end. “Hello?”
“Why were you in my wife’s dream?” I demanded, leaning back to get a clear line of sight on Lyra. She stared at me, wide-eyed, and I tried not to let my jealousy slip too obviously onto my face.
