Lyra’s POV
I felt the firm strength of his arm wrap around my waist, pulling me gently closer. His fingers brushed against the soft strands of hair at the nape of my neck before tucking them neatly behind my ear. A tiny shiver ran through me at his touch, warm and comforting all at once. Then he asked, his voice low and unhurried, “Do you like the view?”
I leaned back just enough to meet his gaze and let out a soft breath. “I love it,” I whispered, careful not to speak too loudly—but certain he could hear me perfectly.
He chuckled, the faint sound vibrating against my side. “Well, it’s past ten o’clock already. Go get ready. We’re going shopping.”
