Lyra’s POV
Streams of warm sunlight seeped through the narrow gap in the curtains, splashing across my face and dragging me out of a deep, dreamless sleep. The brightness felt jarring, each shaft of light prodding at my eyelids until I could no longer ignore them. I let out a long, involuntary yawn, my body arching as I stretched every muscle. My limbs felt weighted, as though made of lead—every movement an effort.
“Lyra?” A soft voice called my name, familiar yet distant. I blinked, trying to focus, but it felt as if my eyelids were glued shut. After what seemed like an eternity, I managed to pry them open. The room came into view through a haze: pale walls, a neatly made bed, and figures hovering nearby.
“She’s awake,” I heard Sienna whisper. Relief softened the tension in the air. I tried to sit up, but my head spun, and I let out a low groan. Sienna was immediately at my side, steadying me with gentle hands on my shoulders.
