Chapter 90
Lyra’s POV
Sienna and Audrey had stepped out to fetch the prescription that the nurse said I’d need, and I was left alone in my room. The moment the door clicked shut behind them, a wave of dread washed over me. I knew Clara and Valerie might still be lurking nearby, waiting for a chance to hurt me. My heart hammered at the thought of leaving the safety of my bed, but after a few minutes spent staring at the pale wallpaper, I forced myself up.
I paced the length of the room, deliberately stretching each muscle. My feet sank into the plush carpet as I rolled my shoulders and rotated my hips, trying to push away the tension coiling in my chest. My phone, resting on the nightstand, caught my eye. I picked it up, flipped it on—and found an empty battery. A sigh escaped me. With no charger in sight, I considered calling out for Sienna or Audrey. But they were gone, and I didn’t want to stress myself by raising my voice. Stress could be dangerous now that I was pregnant
