Amelia’s POV

I stood outside the café,the cool breeze brushing against my face.It had been less than forty-eight hours since I’d last seen Liam,but the last time we spoke,it had been nothing short of a disaster.I wasn’t sure what to expect from this meeting.I didn’t know if things could be fixed,or how I could ever make it up to him.

But I owed it to Liam to try,to explain myself and listen to what he had to say.I took a deep breath,trying to steady my nerves.

Pushing open the door of the café,my eyes immediately landed on Liam.He was already there,sitting at a small table near the window,his back straight,his posture tense.He caught sight of me almost instantly and stood up with a polite but somewhat strained smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes,but still,he offered it,and I couldn’t help but return the gesture.

At least he was no longer looking like he couldn’t bear to see me.
