Instead of following her mother, the little girl hugged Mia tighter. "No way! Mother will definitely hit me.”
Feeling pity, Julian blocked the woman's rude attitude. “Sorry, it's not that I'm getting in the way of your efforts to get your daughter back. But, can't you be gentler?"
"Right. Treat your child well. Otherwise, someday, she could really leave you. There's no point in regretting it later. Trust me," Amber continued with a minimal nod.
Grinning, the young mother considered the situation. Whether fully conscious or just faking it, she returned to her knees and gently stroked the daughter's head.
"Okay, I'm sorry. Next time, I will never take my eyes off you,” the woman said in a voice that was no longer deafening. “Now, how about we go back to the hotel? I promise not to punish you."
