Chapter 38. Annetta Wanted to Please Ethan
Ethan walked to the door of the bedroom. The door was half-closed, and there was no one inside when he pushed the door open.
As he walked into the bedroom and closed the door, he could vaguely hear the sound of running water coming from the bathroom.
Ethan walked to the bathroom door and saw Annetta scattering rose petals in a filled bathtub. When she heard him, she turned her head and said happily, “Ethan! You’re here! I have prepared some warm water for you to take a nice bath!”
The little girl was brimming with a smile, and her eyes were sparkling when she turned around.
Ethan did not say anything as he hugged her from behind.
The little girl who was scattering petals felt a strange sense of loneliness around the man. She froze for a moment before asking softly, “Ethan, what’s wrong?”
