Chapter 19
"You should get promoted more often, mom," Andre joked as we got home that evening. Aunt Camille chuckled.
"You boys go freshen up and go to bed, don't forget you have school tomorrow," she said instead, kicking off her shoes and slumping on the couch.
We were all exhausted, that was for sure. We spent over an hour shopping, as Andre and I had to wait for Aunt Camille to round up her shopping long after we were done with ours. Turns out women are all the same when it comes to shopping, despite their age. Then we went to have dinner at an Italian restaurant. I hated pasta, but they made me fall in love with the lasagna. Man, was it heavenly. We met some of Aunt Camille's friends there, so Andre and I once again had to wait for her to 'say hello' to them just so she could tell them about her promotion and get flooded with congratulatory remarks.
We said goodnight to Aunt Camille and went upstairs to our rooms.
