Detective Riley was the one who took my statement. I told him everything that happened from his first phone call to Jack being shot. Master and Jerry arrived during the process of taking my statement. Chen arrived a couple minutes after them. They all had to wait until we were finished before we could speak to them. Mine took a little longer because I'd been with Jack the whole time, but at last, I knew what had happened. Lucia had saved the day again. I wanted to hug her and more, but it would have to wait until later.

"I have a few questions for you, Detective Riley," I asked. "How did Jack find out where we were?"

"Apparently, Jack was close enough to hear the radio call which went out to send an officer here to get your house key. It's when he decided to take the officer's uniform and equipment and come here himself."

"And how did you find out he was coming and send the cavalry?"

"The
