"You mean, he seriously didn't tell you I called?" Asher sounds surprised as he asks.

He is lying horizontally on the bed beside me, like we used to do back at home. I turn to lie on my side so I'm facing him and he does the same. It almost feels like when we were teenagers again. The thought makes me smile, that is, before I remember what he just said.

"Yes." I replied, holding back an eye roll. Zade has a lot of explaining to do when he gets back. "I'm sorry about it though."

He shrugs. "It's alright, I know you won't ignore me on purpose." He stretches his arms over his head.

I just watch him, noticing little changes about him, like how he let his facial hair grow out a bit more, making him look more mature and more like his age.
