Zade doesn't stop looking at me and as much as I try to ignore how his gaze is burning into the side of my face, I can't. in the end I gave up and my head snaps to him and I narrow my eyes, wondering why the hell he was watching me like he wanted to devour me. I couldn't even pretend it didn't please me, seeing him look starstruck like that.

I was a little afraid he would go back to being his old self after he got what he wanted. I felt really stupid for not putting up much of a fight, but he hasn't acted like his old self. That is a plus, right?

"Alpha?" He breaks off our eye contact first as Henry calls for his attention.

I look away too, feeling my face and neck flush. Thank heavens I chose to wear a high top after I got dressed, though nothing can be done for my face that is positively on fire.
