"Welcome to the pack, luna, I'm sure it'll be great to have you." Anika smiles and waves. She takes her daughter's hand and starts walking away but I call her.

"Thank you for taking your time to do this. Please give me a second." She looks like she wants to go but she nods and stands in her spot.

I jog to the car and package the rest of the cookies in the tray, telling myself the guys back at the pack are big guys and they can handle themselves.

"Here, I would like you to have this." She is quick to shake her head.

"No, you don't have to do this." I smile and push it forward toward her.

"I insist, please take it." Dylan appears by my side and she greets him with a small beta and a smile.

"You're not about to refuse the luna, are you, Anika?" he asks her, a teasing note to his voice.

She sighs and collects the package from me, my heart warms when she smiles. "Thank you so much, you're so kind."

I wave her off, not knowing wh
