More than a thousand thoughts were running wild in my mind, and I could do nothing to stop them.
I felt a mixture of many things. Of hot and cold even though it was mild evening weather. I had completely shut out Ryker, but that didn't even in the slightest help the battle within me. And as the seconds painfully wandered by I was beginning to detest leaving her alone. But she needed it. They all needed it.
I buried my face into my palm where I was seated on a log at the back of the mansion.
