Chapter 53

I went through the side door to the female employee's locker room, grabbing a spare uniform from my locker.

I changed into it and was locking my locker when the door literally burst open, and a frenzied-looking guy stormed in. His bright golden tousled hair fell to both sides in a mess, and his yellowish green eyes zeroed in on me.

My lips parted in surprise. "Niko?" I was left agape. "What the—" Before I could form my sentence, his large hands gripped me, pulling me into his body in a hug.

I was stoned for a second, but I recovered almost quickly. Still, Niko and I remained fixed like that, his arms around me and I could feel the fast beating of his heart against my chest. It was loud, killing my ears.

"Niko," I patted his back, "You are literally suffocating me,"

He pulled away, bringing his eyes to mine. "I'm sorry,"

Having him so close to me, I realized something was wrong. Man, he lo
