Chapter 145

Alyssa POV

I wake up to an empty bed, but the sheets are still warm, evidence that they haven’t been gone long.

“Guys?” I squeak, my voice barely breaking the silence as I slowly sit up, glancing around the dimly lit room. But there’s no sign of King, Niko, or Mason.

The clock reads 3 a.m. I can see King waking up this early, but that doesn’t explain where Niko and Mason are.

After a quick stop in the bathroom, I tiptoe down the stairs. Halfway down, I hear their muffled voices. I pause, crouching slightly as I strain to listen.

“Something’s off about this Vince guy,” Niko says, his voice low but laced with suspicion. “But I can’t find anything too out of the ordinary in his records. Just regular mob shit.”

“There’s a reason you’re vice president, Niko,” Mason replies, his tone measured. “We trust your intuition. That means we need to keep an eye on him and also continue to keep Alyssa and the babies away from the clubhouse until we know fo
