Of course, this is about him.

Gray got to him somehow. And he didn’t want anyone else knowing except Alyssa. More importantly—he wanted this kept from King.

The only reason I can think of? He doesn’t want us involved. Doesn’t want to risk us getting caught up in whatever the hell he has planned.
