Georgia’s POV
“I’m okay now. I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, but that doesn’t explain why I did what I did to you. I apologize for everything, Georgia. For kidnapping you and for—”
“Slapping me? Making me go through hell? I didn’t even know you!”
“But I knew you. I fell in love with you first. I saw you first. The girl who stole my heart.”
“I don’t— I don’t understand.”
“You were fourteen when I saw you. I lived with Ennio and my parents in Chicago at that time, and we were out bike riding. Then my eyes fell on you, the blondie playing with the summer leaves with her parents and her little sister. I fell in love without knowing the word then and there. But then I left for Italy, and I didn’t see you till—”
“My wedding?”
“Yes, your wedding. I love you, Georgia, and I couldn’t bear seeing you marry my brother.”
“So you decided to kidnap me, terrify the hell out of me thinking I would love you back? That’s fucked up, Giovanni.”
