LILY'S POV.

"Seen Rune anywhere?" Kyra asked me from where I stood in front of the window, a beautiful sight of the aggressive beach water washing against its bank before me.

But even with that, my eyes weren't on the waters. Instead, they stuck with someone sitting in front of it, knees up to her chest, staring into space as her toes dug into the sand.

Eva held onto the purple vase that carried Mum's ashes. We still hadn't talked about how she left me out of decision-making involving Mum's body, and I was still mad about it; seeing her like this made my heart heavy.
