He pulled her to a warm embrace and cleaned her tears with his handkerchief. He kissed her on the lips and placed her on his laps. He took an ointment on the table and applied it for her on her face. He didn't want to make an issue out of nothing. He knew there wasn't anyway Emily would come in contact with Xia Lin if she didn't go to find her. 

"I will make it up to you sweetheart. Just give me three more days. The competition will be held on the third day and everything will be over by then. I will do everything I didn't do for you these past few days. I promise."

Finally, the day of the competition came. There was tension in the air when the exhibition was over. It was finally time to hear the results.
