I do not know how to get out of this situation because we are so close. It would be weird for me to get off the couch and then kneel down. Do other guys feel this way before they ask the girl they love to marry them?
"Can we put one of these on each table at our wedding?"
She asks as she grabs another chip, and I raise an eyebrow. She has never said anything like that before. I know she wants to get married, but she never talks about it. I think she might be afraid of scaring me.
I look at her face for a moment to see if she is kidding. She is a little tipsy, but I thought it was just helping her relax. Her cheeks are still red, and her eyes look a little tired.
"How much did you drink?" I put my hand on her face and whisper because I am afraid I might have missed something. I cannot ask her now if she is too drunk.
She whispers back, "I am not drunk," and puts her hand on mine.
