Alex’s POV
"Surprise?" Nathan quipped, his fake humor evident in his tone.
As I took in his presence, alive and conscious, my tear-soaked emotions seemed trivial. There was no greater gift than seeing him healthy, not a single bruise or wound marring his body. I held him tightly, unable to contain my relief.
"Thank goodness, you're okay. Are you feeling any pain?" I asked, panic tinging my words, but he simply chuckled.
"I'm fine," he reassured me, his laughter betraying a newfound strength. "I feel like I'm stronger than a bear. Light but powerful."
It was strange. While I knew that humans could be bonded to werewolves, the fact that he had transformed without any consequences left me puzzled.
"How is that even possible?" I queried, my confusion evident. "But regardless, as long as you're safe, I can't stop thanking the heavens."
