The four occupants in the office were all sitting quietly, each deep in thought. The room, which had been filled with happiness earlier, now carried an air of worry and confusion.

“Let me get this straight,” Gamma April started. “Selene’s mate is the alpha of the Eirini Pack? Alpha Xavier, who became an alpha after his dad died?” she asked no one in particular.
