Chapter 13. I’ll Be Here, Waiting

Keira’s POV

I was going through the last of my assignments when I heard the doorbell ring. Brendon had arrived for our movie night.

I did not think he would make it, considering the sky’s downpour that made me want to drink something hot and snuggle in bed. But that was just Brendon; he would show up for anything that involved me. I closed my laptop and opened the front door to let him in.

He was wet and dripping all over my carpet.

“Could you not have used an umbrella, at least?” I ask. “Stay still. You are getting water all over the place.”

“I was already halfway here when the rain started,” he said as I grabbed a mop, cleaning up maps of water on the floor. “Could not turn around. Your place was closer to mine, and Natasha is not in?”

“She is asleep
